About Timberland Fishery and Prices
Timberland Fishery (on the western edge of Harlow) is a 4 lake coarse and specimen fishery that offers something for all types of angler. We also intend to reopen a 5th lake in the future.
As you enter the fishery, there is a small tackle shop that stocks essential tackle and baits including maggots, worms, ground baits, pellets, boilies etc.
Stocked brands include Mainline (inc. freezer baits), Ringers, Bait Tech, Crafty Catcher, Enterprise etc.
Fishing tickets must be purchased from the shop before going to the lakes. If you fish without a ticket, you will be asked to leave the fishery and not return.
You will need to take a suitable landing net and unhooking mat into the shop in order to purchase your ticket. Failure to do this will result in you being unable to fish at Timberlands.
Please check all other rules before buying your ticket!!!
If you have a fish capture you would like to see in our gallery please email them to
PLEASE BE AWARE ALL PICTURES MUST HAVE FISH HELD LOW OVER AN UNHOOKING MAT OR CRADLE REGARDLESS OF SIZE, ANYONE SEEN TO BE STANDING WHILST HOLDING A FISH WILL BE BANNED. FISH SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT AT TIMBERLANDS
The 4 lakes currently open are:
Willow Lake is a small 10 peg lake just inside the main entrance to the fishery. It is mainly an 'ornamental' water with Koi Carp, Ghost Carp, Grass Carp, Crucian Carp etc, but also holds Tench, Perch, Roach, Bream etc.
It's perfect for pleasure fishing, teaching the kids and being a 10 peg lake, it's ideal for small matches or group bookings. Prices for bookings can be obtained from the shop.
Baggers lake is our main match lake which is also very popular for pleasure anglers. It has 30+ pegs and is heavily stocked with Carp, including some double figure fish. 100lb + bags are a common occurrence on Baggers.
As well as the Carp, there are Bream into double figures, Tench over 8lbs, Perch, Roach and Rudd.
There is a wide lane all around Baggers lake making it ideal for the elderly and disabled. Night fishing is available on Baggers lake. Please check the night fishing rules before buying a night ticket.
Mystery is a small 7 peg lake opposite Baggers lake. The stock consists of Common Carp, Crucian Carp, F1's, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Bream well into double figures and a few Carp well into the 20's.
Mystery doesn't get fished heavily but a few members of our Bailiff team are convinced that it holds the biggest carp across the venue!
Horseshoe Lake is our specimen lake and has around 36 pegs. Generally, our bigger fish are in Horseshoe.
There are 20lb + Sturgeon, Catfish up to 32lb, Carp nudging 30lb, double figure Bream, double figure Tench, Crucians 3lb +, Perch over 4lb, Barbel to 8lb, Roach, Rudd etc.
Horseshoe is now a permit only water. To obtain a permit you will need to show a suitable landing net (36" minimum), unhooking mats etc.
You must also be known to practice good fish handling. Permits are available upon request but numbers are limited. If you have not fished here before, you will need to fish our other waters before a permit can be granted.
Once a member of our staff has seen that you are a sensible and competent angler, you will be able to apply for a permit.
General 'danglers' will not be allowed to fish on Horseshoe as fish safety is paramount, as is the overall experience for our genuine Specimen fish anglers. Horseshoe is available for night fishing for over 18's or selected under 18's if they are accompanied overnight by an adult.
